About the RoleWe are looking for a passionate and curious 2D Game Artist Intern to join our creative team at R2D Games. If you are a student or recent graduate obsessed with game art, dynamic UI, vibrant colors, and bringing visual ideas to life, this is your chance to step into the game industry!What you'll be working on:2D Asset Creation: Crafting visually appealing game assets, including stylized environment elements, props, icons, pop-ups, and UI components.Concept & Illustration: Sketching and rendering quick concepts to explore visual styles for new features and gameplay ideas.Animation & VFX Support: Assisting the team in creating clean 2D animations and basic particle visual effects using industry-standard tools.Asset Optimization: Learning how to prepare, slice, and optimize 2D graphics, spritesheets, and textures for Unity.Creative Collaboration: Participating in art reviews, taking constructive feedback, and contributing creative ideas to enhance the player experience.What we're looking for:A strong portfolio showcasing solid artistic fundamentals: composition, color theory, lighting, perspective, and stylization.Proficiency in digital painting or vector illustration software of your choice (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).A genuine passion for mobile games and an eye for what makes game visuals feel fun, clear, and engaging.Adaptability: Eagerness to pick up new software, tools, and technical workflows as needed.Strong communication skills and a high sense of ownership over your tasks.Nice to have:Familiarity with 2D skeletal or frame-by-frame animation tools (e.g., Spine 2D, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, DragonBones, etc.).Basic understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.Curiosity or basic experience with game engines like Unity (how art assets are integrated and setup).Broad interest in 3D art workflows (e.g., Blender) is a bonus, but definitely not required!
